CHOSITI, India (AP) — Flash floods triggered by torrential rains have killed over 200 people and left scores others missing in India and Pakistan over the past 24 hours, officials said Friday, as rescuers brought to safety some 1,600 people from two mountainous districts in the neighboring countries.

Pakistan is expected to face increased rainfall this month, raising the risk of further flooding and landslides, according to government officials.

BUNER, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani officials say recent rain-related incidents have killed at least 220 people in a northwest district. Rescuers pulled out 63 more bodies overnight Friday from homes in Buner devastated by flash floods and landslides.
