Parth Jindal revealed why Rishabh Pant left Delhi Capitals, leading to his record-breaking transfer to Lucknow Super Giants at the recent IPL 2025 mega auction. Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal disclosed that the franchise made every effort to retain Rishabh Pant before the IPL2025 mega auction.

Despite DC’s good performance in the auction, one move that drew attention was their attempt to bring back Shreyas Iyer. Delhi bid for Iyer till INR 26.5 crore and then tapped out, allowing PBKS to take Iyer for 26.75 crore. Parth Jindal, co-owner of the team, has recently shared his thoughts on the bidding war for Iyer.

While Delhi Capitals did not retain Rishabh Pant, Jindal and Co. went up till the Rs 20.75 crore mark to use the RTM for him before Lucknow Super Giants made a humongous lift to Rs 27 crore and snapped up the bid.

Parth Jindal, co-owner of the Delhi Capitals, said that the group attempted to retain Rishabh Pant before to the IPL MEGA auction, but conflicting mindsets hampered their efforts. Jindal said that Pant's ambition for leadership and team direction did not coincide with the owners' vision.

The batter, however, went on to become the costliest buy in the IPL history after being acquired by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 27 crore ($3.21 million).
