Wilyer Abreu hit a tiebreaking RBI single in the eighth inning Wednesday afternoon and the Boston Red Sox beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 in the completion of a game suspended by rain a night earlier.

The Cincinnati Reds trailed the Boston Red Sox 2-1 when the tarp was pulled onto the field after the end of the third inning Tuesday.

Thanks to rain suspending the game between the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, July 1, the teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday, July 2.
