The main fight was between the Mahayuti comprising BJP, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar-led NCP, and the Maha Vikas Aghadi consisting of the Congress, NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT).
